The Natives are a Blooming

Since we've been in Florida (almost 2-1/2 years now) I've grown a close relationship with Florida native plants. It's amazing to me how many there are, especially medicinal. One of my favorites is Echinacea, a Florida native. In the background is a Black Eyed Susan native. My echinacea was planted about a year ago, and it is just now blooming. A beautiful sight, isn't is just glorious?

Shea Butter Lotion Back in Stock!

Just in time for that dry, itchy, winter weather skin - we've finally got a fresh Shea Butter Lotion batch made up. We went for a few months on this one because we were so busy with keeping up with just filling orders around the holidays, and then we got slammed for Valentine's Day! We barely were able to keep up with the other lotions, but looks like things are back on track now.
Soooo, enjoy!Shealotion

CO2 Extracts and Your Skin

Essentialoils
Years ago, I began experimenting with wonderful CO2 extracts and learning about the sophisticated effects they have on the skin. CO2 extracts contain the highest amount of plant substances for an essential oil. This process is a gentle, low-temperature extraction by liquefied carbon dioxide preserves teh most healthful substances of the plant, with vitamins, aroma, and enzymes unaffected.
As I have progressed a few months ago into a raw food diet I have been witnessing first hand the incredible effects that living foods rich in enzymes can have on the body. CO2 extracts, in my scientific opinion, are the living extracts yielded from a plant, achieving high quality characteristics that nurture our skin.
Isn't it interesting that a finished CO2 extract is sterile because of the high amount of natural antibacterial properties?

Look for more of our products to be enhanced with this wonderful substances as we progress into 2008 and beyond. Your skin is living and so it will appreciate being fed with living substances like CO2 extracts.
Here are a few products that are enriched with these healthy, harmonious extracts (off the top of my head):
Chamomile Rose Face Cream
Calendula Primrose Day Cream
Face Petals Secret Serum
Pumpkin Face Cream

I know there are more than this (products that contain CO2 extracts) so poke around a little and always read our ingredients - we're not afraid to share them!

President's Day CatchUp

Today is the day after President's Day and we're catching up on all orders placed over the weekend. If you placed an order over the weekend (beginning Friday) it will ship out tomorrow (Wednesday Feb 20th). We took the weekend and holiday off, plus Valentine's Day, so we are a little behind. But, we really needed the break. We rarely take a weekend off and I have to say it was VERY nice to get a little rejuvenation.
I have a few new products in the works right now I am very excited about that I can hopefully share with you soon.
I am still extremely excited about our new Hair Conditioner, it has been getting RAVE reviews that I need to post on the site so you can hear what others are saying. This is a totally new and revolutionary product. There is NOTHING else like it on the market.
Your hair has never had it so good!
I'm hoping to put together a hair care gift pack soon because the hair items are becoming a larger part of our biz.
Well I hope you all had a happy President's Day!

Be My Healthy Valentine

ValdayValentine's Day is just around the corner and it's time to celebrate love in your life. Whether it's your husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, friend, neighbor, son, daughter, or whomever needs a little love, try to extend some extra kindness this week to someone you might think needs a little reminder of how special they are. It doesn't have to be "romantic" to be love. Love is all around us, everyday. About a year ago, my daughter started going up to trees and hugging them. Yes, I was so proud. But I swear I didn't teach her that! (I wish I could take the credit). It's so amazing to see how little ones just gravitate towards showing their love to all things great and small. They are the "fruit" of our gardens. I don't have as much time anymore with two little ones to tend to my gardens, so I consider them my garden. I tend to them daily with as much love as I can give. I know that life can be short, it can be unfair, and it can be hard. Every day I have them to remind me of how life can also give back to you through the love that you give.

Here are some love quotes to help inspire you this week:

We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it.
                --John Lennon

May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive,
which is wrapped in thoughtfulness and tied with love.

                --L.O. Baird

Love is always bestowed as a gift --
freely, willingly, and without expectation....
We don't love to be loved; we love to love.

                --Leo Buscaglia

Life is short and we have never too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are traveling the dark journey with us. Oh be swift to love, make haste to be kind.

Kombucha Tea

Kombucha

Kombucha Tea has been used since ancient times to help increase longevity, improve hair growth, clean teeth, boost the immune system, and much more. Not only is it delicious when brewed just right (most health food store brands do not do it justice), but it can be a real treat when used in skin and body care formulations. Lucky for me I became addicted to the health benefits of drinking it from a local friend who brews his own. He recently gave me a scoby where now I can brew my very own and include the beautiful properties of Kombucha in my skincare formulations. Here are a few products that currently contain this magnificent ingredient:
Organic Hair Conditioner
Kombucha Cider Vinegar Rinse

I'm sure as I come up with more products and figure out how to integrate this wonderful tea into more products you will see more of it to come. If you have sampled some Kombucha Tea at your local health food store and find it too sweet or too bitter, it may not have been brewed "just right". Keep your eyes out for maybe someone local or a friend who may be able to brew it just right.
